Love this story. I'm sorry to admit I hadn't heard of Cadwell Turnbull, but after reading this story, I will definitely check out his novels.

Finally had a chance to read this after a madly busy day yesterday and it turns out it was more than worth the wait! Absolutely gorgeous. I felt Mun's wonder, fear, anger as if they were my own. 💙

This reads like the opening scene of a series about the adult. If you haven't already, I hope you write the novel this story evokes.

Most of the time when authors write about how the principle character didn't understand their childhood experiences, it feels contrived and "clunky". This did not; it flowed smooth as dream.

I worried about Mistress discovering the parting gift...still worry although it's strongly implied she never did. That's only part of the reason I really want this story to continue.
